Humanocracy - Part 7

Nameno stood in front of the crowd.  There were eleven of us in all.  I knew five people – Billy, Nisbub, Nameno, Jones and myself.  The other six were strangers.  None of them spoke as Nameno began.

“As all of you know, the next step has been taken.  We’ve been left with a riddle and have a week to figure it out.  Billy, as I get in to this, get everyone another Quacktail, it’ll help absorb all of this in.”

Billy got up from his seat and started pouring.  Those of us who had a bit left of our previous Quacktails in our hands finished them off.  Within minutes all eleven of us had a fresh round.

Nameno continued, “Let’s toast to our new beginning.”  He raised his glass into the air.  The remaining ten of us did the same. “We have gotten to the next step.  Some of the information we will already know from the Diary of the Quacks that Jones found buried in that grave in Belize on his expedition.  Much of the knowledge and the information we currently have come from the Diary.  It told us how to get this deep into Humanocracy.  Now we embark on new knowledge in order to gain and understand.  But first we must solve a riddle.  We have to find two names.  I will repeat what the voice said, verbatim, in order for us to begin our conversations.  After I say the riddle, I say we disband this Quack Tale until four days from now.  It will allow us to meet and still have three days until we must present our answer.  The three-day siesta will give us all time to think of our own, unique answer and allow us to discuss them fully.  Please, after I tell you what we heard, finish your Quacktail and drive home.  We will meet in four days.  Does everyone agree?”

The room bellowed, “Here, here.” And Nameno told them the riddle.

“To enter this Gate the Quack must have the key.
However, this key one cannot see.
It exists in words that can be told.
But only by men who feel as bold.
There are two sides, existing in space.
There are two sides among your race.
Conflicting Existence is how it’s described.
And because of it many men have died.
The names of the two sides are what I seek.
I need these names within a week.
Look within these words I now say to you.
The answer is immersed in the clues.
Two sides compete every day.
Their names I must hear you say.

One side deals in the past and the future.
They analyze both to try to control the present.
This gives them a false reality
as they are stuck to deal in space-time limitations.

The other side deals in the present.
They sense the moment with their organ of sensation.
Their mind registers and catalogues the sensations and the experience
as they deal in the Here and Now.

The two names I need, within a week.
These two names I seek a Quack to speak.”

Everyone in the room finished their Quacktail, rose from their seat, and drove home.

Humanocracy - Part 6

The room was pitch black.  I stood there for a minute or two waiting.  The silence was almost overbearing.  At about the same point that I wanted to turn around and get out of there, the strobe lights began again.  The voice began to speak.

“So, you made it past Nisbub, eh?  Good going.  Many Quacks don’t even get passed the Quacktails, the large tables, and the conversations.  And you, all in two nights!  Ooh, I’m excited now.  Walk forward five paces for me.  Good.  Hold your hands out in front of you.  Do you feel the door?”

“Yes,” I muttered.

“No need to talk, I can hear your thoughts.  Conserve your energy.  Feel for the handle on the door and open it.  Go down the stairs.”

I left the strobe light voice and walked down into the ground.  There were about fifty steps or so, and there wasn’t any light.  The only light that remained was the flashing of the strobes above my head.  The stairs rounded a corner as I descended.  I ended up in a cellar.  There was a hanging light bulb in the middle of the room.  It was too dark to see into the four corners of the room, and I did not know what to expect.  There was a door on the opposite wall, and I headed towards it.  When I got to the middle of the room, I was told to stop.

“Wait,” a voice said from behind me.  “Stop right there.  I’m going to push a chair your way.  Sit down in it, but don’t look back.  Keep facing the door.”

I heard the chair scrape along the concrete floor.

“Sit down, please,” the voice continued.  “Nisbub sent you.  I’ve been told you’ve only been here once before.  Quite unusual, I must add.  Nisbub thought the same, but I trust his judgment to send you here.  He can spot a fool in an instant.  Do me a favor; hear me out for a couple of moments.  Then tell me what you think.  Nisbub thinks you can help us.  I still have my doubts.  You are, however, a Jones’ Quack, and those are the types that have gotten us this far in the first place.  I am going to turn the lights out and set it up so we can see the sign.  Close your eyes and stop your thoughts while I do so.”

I closed my eyes and felt the light go out.  My eyes began to burn and my head began to spin.  I literally thought I had been turned upside down.

“Okay, open your eyes.”

I had been turned upside down!  I was now sitting on the ceiling and the floor was above my head.  I was startled.

“Don’t fret, I know it’s strange, but this is the only way we’ve figured out how to see the sign.  And it took us centuries to figure just this out.  Look, over on the wall, on the door, do you see it?”

I stared at the door and let my eyes focus and my head readjust.  I could see a faint drawing on the door.  The more I stared the brighter it got.  There was a circle with arrows and words.  As I stared harder I saw it in its entirety.

I continued to stare, wondering what this meant.  As I did, I began to see writing appear on the wall above the door.  It read:
Four Parts of Man
The words, Four Parts of Man, continued to flash.  Other words appeared to the left of the door on the wall, half a foot from the floor, which was now the ceiling.  One after the other, four areas of writing appeared on the wall.  In the top left was Body.  Bottom left was Heart.  Top right was Soul.  Bottom right was Mind.

The voice from behind me began to speak, “Those are the four parts of man: Body, Heart, Mind and Soul.  There is nothing more and there is nothing less.  Each of those parts combines in this four-dimensions of reality we exist in.  Each part represents something.  They get their names from the old idea of Earth, Fire, Water and Air.  The Body is Earth.  The Heart is Fire.  The Mind is Water.  The Soul is Air.  The Quacks have figured out what aspects are dealt with under each of these parts, but we don’t know the word that describes their relationship to Human Existence.  Thus we are stuck at this impasse in our Humanocracy.  Nisbub thinks you will know the answer.  Watch as the specifics of each area explain themselves on the wall, and then tell me the first word you think of after you see them.”

I looked to the wall and watched the following be written.

BODY

-          listen to what it says
-          take care of it
-          organ of sensation
-          flow with discipline
-          eliminate vices
·

“What word comes to mind, fair son?”

I paused for a second unable to think of anything.  Then, all of a sudden, “Physical,” exploded out of my mouth.  The word itself was written after the dot in the list of specifics as such.

BODY

-          listen to what it says
-          take care of it
-          organ of sensation
-          flow with discipline
-          eliminate vices
·         Physical

Then the following was written below:

HEART

-          fill with unconditional love
-          be happy where you are but work towards goals
-          keeper of the truth
-          feel it beat
-          eliminate negative emotions
·

Out of my mouth flew the word, “Emotional,” and it was written in as such.

HEART

-          fill with unconditional love
-          be happy where you are but work towards goals
-          keeper of the truth
-          feel it beat
-          eliminate negative emotions
·         Emotional

Next I saw,

MIND

-          meditate
-          simplify
-          see life as the Dream
-          don’t analyze
-          focused energy and attention
-          eliminate anxiety
·

I yelled out, “Mental, and it was written as such.

MIND

-          meditate
-          simplify
-          see life as the Dream
-          don’t analyze
-          focused energy and attention
-          eliminate anxiety
·         Mental

Lastly I saw,

SOUL

-          energy
-          consciousness
-          phases
-          levels
-          immortality
-          BE
-          eliminate attachment
·

Finally, I bellowed, “Spiritual,” and it was written as such.

SOUL

-          energy
-          consciousness
-          phases
-          levels
-          immortality
-          BE
-          eliminate attachment
·         Spiritual

It was at that moment when the door began to shake on its hinges.  It began to rattle and shake more violently each second.  Oddly, at the point when it seemed the door was going to fly out towards me, it disappeared.  A spiraling cloud containing every color imaginable in kaleidoscopic fashion was spinning in front of me where the symbol of the Four Parts of Man had been.  I could not see through it or around it.  I heard the voice behind me shriek in astonishment.

“You got all four of them!  You got all four of them!  I can’t believe it!  Nisbub was right.  So was Jones.  You got all four of them!”

In his excitement, the man began dancing.  I could hear his feet scuffling on the concrete floor.  At one point, I caught a glimpse of him out of my peripheral vision.  The man had long hair, a long beard and mustache, and wore monk-like robes.  He was very old.

From behind the colored spiral came a strange voice.  This voice was extremely deep, almost fiendish, but spoke in riddle like fashion.  It said:

“To enter this Gate the Quack must have the key.
However, this key one cannot see.
It exists in words that can be told.
But only by men who feel as bold.
There are two sides, existing in space.
There are two sides among your race.
Conflicting Existence is how it’s described.
And because of it many men have died.
The names of the two sides are what I seek.
I need these names within a week.
Look within these words I now say to you.
The answer is immersed in the clues.
Two sides compete every day.
Their names I must hear you say.

One side deals in the past and the future.
They analyze both to try to control the present.

as they are stuck to deal in space-time limitations.

The other side deals in the present.
They sense the moment with their organ of sensation.
Their mind registers and catalogues the sensations and the experience
as they deal in the Here and Now.

The two names I need, within a week.
These two names I seek a Quack to speak.”

The old man ran up and gave me a huge bear hug expounding words of thanks and gratitude.

“Thank you.  Oh, thank you, fair son.  You have helped us immensely.  Nisbub was right.”  He slowly released his squeeze and came around in front of me.  “My name is Nameno.  I am the eldest Quack.  Come with me.  We must find Jones and a Quacktail.  The two of us walked up the stairs, through the strobe lights, and into the Quack House’s main room.  Jones was sitting at the table closest to the door.  I saw Nisbub in the corner standing.  As our eyes met, he smiled and then bowed.

“Hey Nameno, it’s been a while since we’ve seen you up here.  You look elated.  What happened?”  Jones asked.

“Your fair son, he’s another Jones’ Quack.  Where did you find him?” Nameno asked.

“He found me,” Jones answered.  “What happened?”

“He figured out the four words, and the most amazing things happened.  I’ll tell you more later.  We need to have a Quack Tale right now!  Drink this Quacktail first.  It will help you calm down and think clearly.  I’ll round up the others.”

Jones got up while Nameno and I drank our Quacktails.  I didn’t know what was happening, but I followed Jones’ previous advice and went along for the ride.

Humanocracy - Part 5

The next day came, I went to work, and drove to the Quack House.  Jones was already there.  I jumped out of my truck and got in to his car.  He asked for a cigarette, gave me a joint.  We lit ‘em both up.  I spoke first.

“Jones, can I ask you something?”

“Depends, I guess.  Ask anyway.”

“Well, I had this strange dream the other night, after I left here.  I was wondering if you’d hear me out for a second and then tell me what you think.”

“I can do that.  Go ahead.”

“Well, it started with me on a bus.  I had no idea where I was going.  The bus was heading down a sandy road, towards this city.  I could see the city in the distance.  I see all of these people lined up along the street watching us proceed into town.  We pulled up to a bus stop minutes later.  As I got off the bus, a strange man runs up to me carrying two cages - one large, one medium.  He says, ‘Sir, you forgot these.’  I reach out and grab the cages.  Only, when I look in, I see two, odd, monkey-like creatures in the large cage, and another in the medium-sized cage.  I continue to walk towards my hotel room, which is directly on this large lake area.  I put the cages in the closet as I shower.  After I dress, I get both cages out, talk to the creatures for a few minutes in a tongue I have never heard, open the doors to the hotel room and the cages, and watch the creatures run out into the lake.  When I reach the shore, I see the three creatures at the bottom of the lake, relaxing and smiling.  The water is crystal clear.  And then I see even more of the creatures coming out of everywhere – from behind trees, cars, bushes, houses, shops, trucks, and buses.  It was odd.  I had this overwhelming feeling that they had always been there.  They had just now decided to come out and let me see them.  I panicked.  I called out to the three under the water to come back.  They just laughed, floated up to the top of the lake, and ran away, on top of the water.  I chased after them.  I rounded two of them up pretty quickly, but the third was nowhere to be seen.  All of a sudden, I heard this man screaming and shouting.  I rounded the corner and saw him with a bowling ball.  He was tossing bowling balls at the third monkey-man.  I couldn’t believe it!  I ran up to the man, confronted him, but all I got for it was an ass whooping.  I lay there on the ground looking up.  I got up, ran for the monkey-man, grabbed him, and took off.  I put him in his respective cage.  Then I woke up.  What do you think?”

“Don’t fret, fair son, it will all make sense.  You see, the monkey-men are here.  They are everywhere.  That was just a vision.  More will be explained a little later, after a Quacktail.  Ready?”

“Sure, let’s go.”

We got out of the car and went in.  The door was propped open as usual.  Billy saw us and began pouring from his machine.  Two full Quacktails were there when we hit the bar.  Jones grabbed his and nodded at Billy.  I said, “Thanks,” and grabbed mine.  We went to our open table.

“Take a sip,” Jones said as we sat down.  I took a large one to prepare.  “Okay, you want to know who those monkey-men were?”

“Of course,” I stated in anticipation as I leaned forward and lit a cigarette.

“Okay, can I have one?  Thanks.  The monkey-men are here.  They are everywhere.  The dream you had was a vision.  It’s a good sign you had one your first night.  The monkey-men are truly here.  They just lurk behind things.  It’s their nature.  Most of the time they exist in a different time-space realm, but every once in a while they can be seen.”

“Huh?”

“Think of this.  What do you think ghosts are?  What do you think shadow men are?  What do you think demons and angels are?  What do you think God is?  All of those and more are out there, right now, with us.  Only we can’t always see them.  They exist on a different vibration level.”

“Vibration level?  How so?”

“Well, everything exists.  It just depends on where.  Haven’t you ever felt as if someone was watching you?”

“Yes.”

“Well, there probably was.  Ever seen something you thought couldn’t be true?”

“Yes.”

“Probably was true.  No. Let me rephrase that.  Was true!  It always is.  Everything you experience is true, no matter where it comes from or if you believe it.  It’s simply a matter of fact and realization.  Drink up.”  Jones toasted me.  We drank.

“What does all of this mean?” I asked.

“That depends on what you mean.”  Jones continued, “you must explain further.”

“Where did the notes come from?  What do the signs in this bar mean?  What is that room with the voice?  What is going on here?”

“Now, fair son, do you really want to know all of that just now?  Doesn’t the suspense and the intrigue do anything for you?”

“Yea, but I always like to know what I am getting myself into.”

“None of us know what we are getting ourselves into any single moment of time.  To think that way is just a mirage.  Just ride this one out.  Don’t analyze it, just sense it.”

“Okay, but please tell me what Humanocracy is.”

“That’s simple; it’s a tenet of our race.  That’s all.  It gets us by.”

“Tenet?  Gets you by?”

“Yeah, gets us by.  As I told you the other night, the hard part is dealing with society once the knowledge is gained.  Humanocracy gets us by.”

“What does it entail, exactly?”

“That is what you will find out along the ride.  Drink up.”  Jones finished his Quacktail, rose from his seat, and asked Billy for another round.  I finished mine as Jones brought the Quacktails, and the next round of conversation.

“You want to know what all of this is, do ya?  Well, I can’t tell you all of it.  Actually, I can’t tell you any of it.  It is something you have to experience and understand yourself.  I can only guide you along the way.  Show you what others have seen.”

“What have the others seen?”

“A lot.  Let’s toast.”  Jones raised his Quacktail high into the air as the room went silent.  He began, “Here’s to you.  Here’s to me.  Forever friends we shall be.  But if at ever we disagree.  A Quacktail it is for me.”

Once again the room rang out in bellows of “Here, here.”  I said the same.

“I have to tell you,” Jones continued.  “Something a bit different is happening this time around.”

“What do you mean?” I queried.

“Well, to tell you the truth, there is someone who wants to meet you.  Rather unorthodox if you ask me.  But he’s in charge.”

“Who’s in charge?”

“Well, not in charge of everything.  That’s not what I mean.  It’s just, he’s in charge of this one area.”

“What area is that?”

“Hold on, come with me.  I’ll let him tell you himself.  Take a big swig of your Quacktail first.  You’re gonna need it for this one.  You see that big guy over there in the corner?”  Jones pointed to the corner furthest from the door.  It was the only corner in the place that remained dark without any light.  “He’s the guy you need to meet with.  I’ll grab us another couple of Quacktails and meet you there.  He always likes meeting people one on one at first.  Says it gives him a sense of who they are without the distraction of anyone else.  Good luck.”

“Jones?  Uh, what’s his name?”

“Just go along for the ride, my fair son.  Good luck.”  Jones walked away towards Billy and the machine.  I, on the other hand, went towards the dark corner.  As I approached, I could see a lone man in a pinstriped suit sitting at a long table in the shadows.  He was looking out at everyone in the place staring intently at times on one conversation or another.  It was as if he could hear the entire place and what was being said.  I was a bit nervous.

“Please, do sit down,” he said as I approached.  There was a chair across the table from him, and I sat down.  “My name is Nisbub.  How do you do?” he continued as he reached out his hand towards me.

“Fine,” I replied.  “Nice to meet you.”

“There is something I need to know.”

“What might that be?”

“Well, I was sitting here two nights ago and I saw you walk in with Jones.  It has been a while since Jones brought in another Quack.”

“Sir, I am no Quack!”

“Fair son, that is not a derogatory term.  It is what we are.  All of us who pass through those propped open doors.  It is our inherent nature to be so.”

“I don’t follow.”

“You see, it has been a while since Jones brought in another Quack – you.  I’m not sure what to make of it, but I overheard your conversation and was intrigued.  Where did you learn all of it?”

“All of what?” I asked confused.

“You know, all of it.”

“No, I’m sorry, I don’t know.”

“Humanocracy, fair son.  Humanocracy.”

“I don’t know anything about it.  That was what I was asking Jones about before I was told to come over to you.”

“Yeah, I needed to make sure of something.  But everything is okay.  I can see it in your eyes and feel it in your soul.  I see Jones heading over here.  Grab your Quacktail and finish it for me as soon as he gets here.  I have something I need you to do.”

Jones handed me my Quacktail.  I swigged it down.  I could feel my head begin to spin as soon as I began.  I gathered my wits and looked at Nisbub.

Nisbub began, “Go back into the room over there.  The one you went in the other night.  Jones will be waiting for you when you come out.”

I turned around and started walking.  I felt anticipation and wanted to turn back, but didn’t.  I opened the door and went in.

Humanocracy - Part 4

The next morning I woke up, brewed some coffee, and picked the notes out of my pocket.  I began to read.  There were only a couple of pages of notes, and it did not take me many cups of coffee to get through them.  I was intrigued by the simplicity of what the voice’s notes had to say, and I could not wait until I saw Jones in another day.  An excerpt of the notes is as follows:

Notes:

Humans = animals = part of nature, not outside of it but connected with it; as a race, humans typically think they have no relation to nature because they wrap themselves up in a social world and don’t live in harmony with the natural world.
-          humanity consists of different colors, religions, beliefs, sexes, regions, nationalities, sizes, shapes, ages, etc.

Society = man-made creation existing outside nature
-          destroys nature in a pursuit of conquest in which to keep the social creation existing (but it only exists because man allows it to)
-          basis for society’s existence = MATERIALISM – business, money, power, greed
-          society is a creation in which humanity must “play” games day after day which creates a hierarchy of power struggles and castes (such as rich/poor)
-          there is no interior thought or rest within this “game” of creation

Reality = existence; Here and Now
-          the moment within time and space (3 dimensions of space; 1 dimension of time)
-          it can be described as “experience in between the seconds of the ticking clock”

Basis of Life = energy – consists of positive and negative
-          always has been = never dies or is created – only the form comes in changes
-          positive promotes consciousness; energy conservation
-          negative destroys consciousness and confuses the mind; energy usage
-          anxiety, fear, shame, hate, anger, depression, worry, etc.; all lead to confusing the mind by energy usage instead of energy conservation
-          negative reactions only happen because of the individual and do NOT occur from outside stimulus or phenomena

Mind = consciousness comes through this organ
-          when it is completely at rest, true existence is seen

Essence of Existence = 1) consciousness = reality of the soul and spirit
2) Here & Now = where the physical world is seen through the
senses; the moment (or point) of existence

Meditation = simplicity in its finest; the mind without thought
-          the only place true peace and energy exist (freedom)
-          the unclouded mind = in this state, a being is consciously aware of everything around it as the senses teach the physical body while the mind rests thoughtlessly within itself

Definitions:
1)      conscious = aware of one’s own feelings or things around one
-          able to feel and think in the normal waking state
2)      consciousness = awareness – morality, reality, spirituality
-          a being is exactly what it is = a soul, spirit, energy, awareness
3)      unconscious = not able to feel and think; not aware
-          part of the mind in which are stored feelings, desires, attachments, etc. that one is not aware of

Dreaming = physical body (physical energy) at rest thus allowing the mind, the point of existence, (through which pure positive energy from the source comes into the physical realm) to be able to show humanity how existence as consciousness (energy in purest form and highest vibration level) really is, thus giving humanity a glimpse of what transcending time and space will be like
-          this state is a mental existence in full understanding of consciousness because it gives a being the ability to transcend time and space

Humanocracy - Part 3

As I closed the door, it was completely black.  I reached out in front of me to feel for a wall or something, but as I did, a strobe light turned on.  I was in a small room from what I could tell between the flashes.  There wasn’t anyone else in the room with me.  As my eyes adjusted, I heard a voice.  The voice came from all sides of me, not from any single speaker or amp.  It was a deep voice, monotone in nature.  And I heard the following:

“The arena Jones spoke of is the arena of consciousness.  The arena of the tamed mind.  The arena where anxiety is eliminated and the soul flows, as it should.  The arena of Humanocracy.  Don’t fear it, fair son.  It was bound to happen to you sooner or later.  You did not just happen across this little place.  It was destined.  It is destiny.  Hear me out and then go back to Jones.  Tell him you would like to see my notes; he will understand.  Just remember.  It is a dream.  There is nothing you can do about it except understand what the dream is.  You see, fair son, consciousness is a simple existence confused by the negativity of the world in order to keep individuals from realizing the simplicity themselves.  That is all.  Now go back.”

The strobe light stopped, the door swung open, and the ground moved as if to tell me to get out of there.  I walked back to Jones and our table.  He had already ordered two more Quacktails for us.  I sat down.

“I was told to ask you for his notes, Jones.”

“Yeah, I figured he would let you into the arena.  I have them all laid out here in front of you.  From start to finish.  Very good reading if you ask me, but I am a little biased to all of this.  Do me a favor.  Drink your Quacktail, relax here with me for another hour, then take these notes home and read them.  I’ll meet you back here in two days.  You will have them finished by then.  Then we can talk about what is really going on.  Pick up the notes, put them in your coat pocket, and then lets relax.  It has been a long night for you, my fair son.  Soak it all in, it is worth it; trust me.

Jones and I sat there for an hour and hardly said a word.  I looked around the room, but didn’t notice anything strange.  The signs still hung where they were before; the people still sat in their places engrossed in conversation.  It was like nothing I had ever seen.  Normally when I go somewhere there is someone who comes over to bother you.  Here, in the Quack House, no one bothered anyone.  You could roam free as you wanted to.  A conversation was all that there was, and all that there ever would be in the Quack House.  When the hour had passed, I bid Jones goodnight.  I had a hard time standing up, and Jones just laughed.  He spoke.

“In two nights.  I’ll meet you in the lot, then we’ll come in.  Okay?”

“Yeah, around four thirty?”

“Yeah.  Good night, fair son.”

“Good night, Jones.”

I walked out of there and drove home.  The entire drive, my head kept spinning.  Not a drunk spin, but a different kind of spin.  I was completely aware of everything that was going on around me, but it was almost too much awareness.  That is what the spinning came from.  I got home, undressed, and fell into bed.  I had the strangest dream.  I dreamt of monkeys, small monkey men.

Humanocracy - Part 2

Jones reached down under the table between us, pulled out some papers, and laid them in front of me.

“If we are going to get started, I might as well throw you directly into the fire,” Jones stated.  “If you want to know what this is all about, the first induction is the Quotable Quackables.”

“Quotable Quackables?  What the hell does that mean?”

“Read these,” Jones said as he slid one of the papers out of the stack and placed it on top.

On the sheet were six quotes.  Well, five quotes and a haiku.  Each was written in different handwriting.

“Read each one carefully, and in order.  Don’t skip around.  This is how all of this came about, and the order is significant.  After you read them, we’ll discuss anything you might want to know.”

I looked down at the paper and noticed that the words were beginning to dance on the page.  I blinked my eyes a couple of times, and they rearranged themselves into a neat order.  The Quotable Quackables were as such:

“Okay, what is this place, the Quack House?” I asked cautiously, as I was well aware of the strange happenings and cults that exist in my land.

“Nothing unusual, I will tell you.  Just the truth.  It’s hard at first, but you begin to get the hang of it.  The really hard part is dealing with the rest of the world once the knowledge starts pouring in.  This absorbing knowledge stuff is easy.”

“Easy?  I don’t even know what is going on!  Can you please explain all of this to me?”

“What is there to explain?  It’s everything you already know.  You just have to accept it and flow with it.”

“I am trying to, but all of this is making my head spin.”

“This information is not making your head spin, it is the Quacktail that is doing the spinning of the mind.  The Quacktail might not be the answer you are looking for, but it is a key, a catalyst so to speak, into the arena.”

“What arena?”

“The arena of, well, I’ll let you see for yourself.  You see that door back there, between the Men and Women’s restrooms?”

“Yeah.”

“Take your Quacktail right now, down the second half of it, and walk through that door.”

“What?”

“Trust me, just do it.”

I downed my Quacktail, wiped my lips with my coat, and headed for the barren door.  I looked back once at Jones, but he just nodded and waved his hands towards the door.  I reached my hand out for the handle, pulled the door open, and walked in.

Humanocracy - Part 1

“Tenet of Our Race”

I met Jonsey Boy at the Quack House. The Quack House actually was a bit like its name suggests – a house full of quacks. Not duck quacks. Not insane quacks. Just quacks. Human quacks. Every person that came into the Quack House wanted two things. The first thing they wanted was the famous Quacktail – an odd drink that did wonders to a person’s soul. The second thing was good conversation. It wasn’t conversation you’d find at the local bars where men and women are trying to pick up men and women. This conversation was actual conversation. I think it was the Quacktails that caused this type of atmospheric condition.

Billy, the owner, was an 80’s pseudo-Merry Prankster, and still looked the part. He would come in to open the doors around four o’clock driving his refurnished mini bus. You could see Billy’s bus coming, and it smelt as if the fumes of the bus itself emanated an odor of peace and funk. And that is what Billy was. An odd combination of peace and funk. He would open the Quack House doors wearing his famous jester hat all green, red and blue. Even the bells on top still rang as he went about his opening ceremony. The first thing Billy did was start up the Quacktail machine. He would drink the first batch to make sure it was working properly. I think he did this to get him in the mood for the evening. Then, before he did anything else, Billy propped open the doors. The propped doors were the only way to tell if the Quack House was open. You see, Billy had the Prankster blood and would vanish for days on end for no apparent reason. Billy said he did it to feed his soul. He didn’t lie, so everyone believed him.

Jonsey Boy, Jones as he liked to be called, and I met one day as I pulled into the parking lot of the Quack House. It was a cool evening. I was bundled up in my trench coat, cigarette hanging out of my mouth. Jones was in the parked car next to mine wearing a Mexican parka and asked if he could bum a smoke from me. I said sure, and followed his direction to get in on the passenger side. I gave Jones a cig. He gave me a joint. Good trade, if you ask me. He lit up his cigarette. I lit up the joint. The two of us sat in his car talking of subjects I had only pondered about in my head. At one point, Jones started laughing.

“What’s so funny?” I asked.

“Oh, nothing. I’ve never seen you here before. First time to the Quack House?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Well, if you can talk to me out here like this about these things, I can’t wait until you get inside, have a Quacktail, and let your mind really go. You think that joint is good. Wait until you taste one of Billy’s Quacktails and feel it hit your soul!” Jones let out a loud roaring laugh, handed me the joint, and continued, “Let’s go in.”

I hit the joint one last time, snuffed it out on my way in, and put the roach in my cigarette pack for later. Jones opened up the door, and we entered the Quack House.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got in. There was Billy in his jester hat behind a small bar with this big machine behind him. The bar was full of empty glasses waiting to be filled. The rest of the room was full of large, long tables. There were a dozen or so people at the tables with papers strewn all across them. No one looked up when we entered, because they were too intent on their Quacktails and their conversations. Jones walked up to the bar. I followed. Billy poured us two Quacktails, smiled, and said, “Good hunting.” I followed Jones to an empty table and sat down. He smiled at me and began to speak.

“Just remember one thing, it’s all a dream.”

“What?” I questioned.

“You’ll see.” Jones raised his drink up to toast. “Here’s to the breezes that blow through the treezes. Where we dig for bones, down on our kneezes. Which reveals a spot that oh so pleases, but confuses us completely by Jesus.” Jones looks up and toasted the sky while he said, “Thank you, Christoph.” He looked back to me and went on, “so, over the lips and through the gums. Watch out stomach here it comes. Born in a sweathouse, raised as a slave. Talking and drinking, that’s our trade.”

“Here, here,” the room bellowed as they all clanked their glasses and drank their Quacktails.

“Here, here,” I said following suit.

The Quacktail tickled as it went down my throat and sank into the depths of my stomach. No sooner than it hit the lining did I feel my world begin to spin. It took a moment to catch my bearing, and as I began to focus once again, I saw the largest smile I had ever seen on a person gleaming from Jones’ face.

“Ready?” he asked.

“Sure, but for what?” I queried.

“Stop for a second. Look around. Let your eyes see what they see.”

I looked around. Besides the scene I have already explained, I began to see other images surge out from the background. Above Billy, on top of the bar, there was a sign. At first I didn’t quite catch its meaning, but later on, as you shall see, I caught its full effect. The sign read:

There was another sign above the mantle of the fireplace. This sign was more of a definition, and I completely understood its meaning but didn’t understand why the sign was in the Quack House. It read:

It was at this time when my eyes began to burn. Jones just told me to close my eyes, as the sensation would pass in a few moments. While I closed my eyes he told me to listen to what he was about to say. He said if I listened carefully the pain would subside.

“Fall down fair sons
upon thy knees
soak in the essence of eternal existence.

Space-time, a mind creation,
is a limitation
of the physical self.

Tap into the corporeal
the arena of the conscious mind;
tap into the consciousness of everything
all is related and interdependent
all is energy.

All is what one is . . .
when one becomes the moment.

Tamed silence is all that exists
in an enlightened mind.
Nothing matters.”

At the end of his prose, the pain was gone. When I opened my eyes, it was as if a Kaleidoscope had been placed in front of me. Everything was swirling in colors. Everything was emitting its energy, and I could see it. I began to panic, but Jones quelled my anxiety.

“Don’t worry, friend. It’s all good. This happens every time you drink a Quacktail. You eventually get the hang of it.”

“What does all of this mean?” I asked.

“In due time, my fair son. In due time.”
